Merry Christmas - and how Characters make your Christmas Cards unique

Merry Christmas to you all!

Boehnchen, The Brotkoepfle wishes you a Merry Christmas while he walks through snowy, Christmasy lightened streets in New York!

Boehnchen is a fun guy. He loves to swim in the lakes in Central Park and eat ice cream. Two things that are not possible to do during winter, but still, he enjoys the atmosphere with all the warm lights and colorful decorations.

You ask: who is TIRIDA? And Boehnchen? Is that a story?

It all began 7 years ago, when I started sketching the first set of 2D characters on Procreate at my iPad. Someone suggested for me to use it, after she would draw children book stories on the same tool.

I was hooked and started to sketch those characters. 350+ have been accumulated over the years.

And while they are cute as 2D images, they are even more fun as 3D creatures - all fantastical, non-normal, nothing seen before. That makes it even more fascinating.

And AI is amazing in creating 3D versions of those 2D characters.

Boehnchen was the first that we transformed. And the first that is published here in the Character Lab district at TIRIDA.

What does TIRIDA stand for?

TIRIDA stands for "Das Tier ist da", which is German and means "The animal is here". It fits the German version more as TIR is a short version of the "animal" word "Tier" in German and sounds similar. IDA is a wording that makes it fun, engaging, and slightly comedic - for sure entertaining.

And hey, they just arrived, those characters - they are finally here ;)
