What happened?

We imported all our Google Maps - saved locations for NYC into the AURA City - specifically into our York Square for you to find hidden gems, beautiful places and great places to meet, connect and eat.

What we do next?

We will share all those locations with you step by step over the next weeks and add more every week to showcase you the best of what NY has to offer.

How we did it?

For all the builders and techies among you - here is how we did it:

1. Connect to Google Maps API and Google Takeout

2. finding the Lists we saved and exported them in one go

3. Added the lists raw for now into our codebase project and combined them into one big list

4. Created a storage bucket in Supabase (our PostgreSQL database) to upload all the content combined with a content table, where all the content went into with the image URL linking to the Storage

5. For that, we imported the info about the places from Google and saved 5 images - LATER PROJECT: Creating Brand-specific images of the places, for now it's one of the normal ones for that place

6. Added some personalized fields to make it more interesting and adding some personal touch to the places and locations in the brand page

7. LATER: More automations and direct fetching as well as de-duplication whenever Is save new locations into Google Maps

8. Voila, you are ready and can showcase your first City Location with your friends, on your platform or wherever you want to :)
